I normally try to draw inspiration for my Dye-a-logue from current events. But this past week has been fairly dull. I mean, a lot of manual labor on Monday and Tuesday, then sitting in my office with no electricity each day…
Oh yeah: there was that storm early Monday morning that caused the work on Monday and Tuesday and the lack of electricity until Thursday afternoon.
We have many reasons to be thankful...but I think I will wait to elaborate on those reasons until next Sunday (November 3).
Monday morning, I texted a video of the storm’s aftermath to Rachel. She replied with “Oh no, what are you going to do?” She then said she would put our congregation on her (and now Jamie’s) club prayer page and on the “Thundering Herd” (Harding’s marching band) prayer page.
I didn’t ever actually answer Rachel’s question. But now I’d like to answer her slightly altered question: “What are (we) going to do?”
We are going to clean up the mess (which we started Monday morning).
We are going to make repairs to the church building.
We are going to assist our members who were adversely affected by the storm.
We are going to help those in our community who suffered loss due to the storm.
We are going to continue to pray for God’s blessings on our congregation.
We are going to give praise and glory to God for His infinite love and mercy.
When it comes right down to it, what else can we do?
God is good all the time and all the time God is good!
