On Tuesday of last week I had a appointment with my doctor. Nothing to worry about...just my annual wellness visit: and I am fairly well, thank you!
There is a part of every wellness visit, though, that requires a needle, a syringe, and an arm. For this part of the visit, you are supposed to have fasted. Well, I forgot and had eaten breakfast before my appointment.
The doctor laughed and said she would leave the orders and I could come back at 7:00 AM any day and have the blood work done. So I went back Wednesday morning.
To make a long story short (too late!), my body was apparently using the blood they took from me because I passed out...not once, but TWICE!!
What possible point could I be making? That I enjoy waking up lying on the floor of a doctor’s office with my feet in a chair?
Some people can donate a pint of blood and be OK...but if they give any more without taking some time to replenish their supply, they will not do so well (like some other people do who have a few CC’s taken from them).
Blood is life: without the blood pulsing throughout our body, we would not be alive. If we wish to carry on in this life, we must have blood.
Blood is life: unless we are covered in the blood of Jesus, we are not alive spiritually speaking. Hebrews 9:22 says, “...and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.”
And it did not take just a few CC’s, a couple of vials or even a pint of Jesus’ blood to have your sins forgiven. It took every single drop of His precious, perfect blood.
And Jesus didn’t just pass out (even twice), He died for you. Are you covered in His blood? Only when we are covered in His blood can we live for Him?
His blood IS eternal life!
