While each and every Sunday is an important and special day, this Sunday will be extra special. This Sunday, we will be honoring our high school seniors as they prepare for graduation. This year we will honor three young men: Jackson Noll, Cody Washington, and Kaelan Wiles.
As we have done in the past for our high school graduating seniors, on Sunday morning, we will present each of these three young men with a Bible and share a little bit about what their plans are for the future.
This year, though, we will start what I hope will become a new tradition. Not only will we share some information about their future, we will also be looking at their past.
With a big assist from their parents, a slide show showing these three boys growing into the young men they have become has been prepared and will be shown at the conclusion of the service (it’s only 4 minutes and 45 seconds long)...some of the pictures are quite telling, so you’ll definitely want to plan on sticking around.
In speaking of the Body of Christ (the church), Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 12:26b, “...if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.” This is an important time in Jackson’s, Cody’s, and Kaelan’s lives. We should rejoice with them as they celebrate this accomplishment.
The most important thing we can do for them, though, is to remember each of them in our prayers. Graduating from high school can be trying. It can be scary as the reality of life after high school sinks in...so pray for them.
And plan on being with us on Sunday morning as we celebrate all that God has done and will do in the lives of Jackson, Cody, and Kaelan!
