It, of course, is the total solar eclipse that will happen on Monday, August 21, 2017. If you don’t want to leave the US, then your next chance to see a total solar eclipse will be April 8, 2024 (and from Siloam Springs, 97.96% of the sun will be covered, as opposed to just 90.74% of the sun being covered on Monday).
People are making plans for Monday. Local TV people will be journeying into Missouri to be able to view the total eclipse of the sun. Places that sell “approved eclipse watching glasses” are sold out. We even got an email that our bank is having an eclipse watching party and is providing lunch and safe eyewear to those who attend.
There is all sorts of excitement, warnings, and preparations happening for this one event that will last about 2½ hours from start to finish: when something special happens to the sun.
But there is another event that is coming soon. However it seems people are not as interested in planning or preparing for it.
You see, although some have predicted when it will happen, they have been wrong every time. And those who try to predict when it will happen in the future will also be wrong.
The only advice that can be given about this other event is to be prepared when it does happen. You see, it will not only be a once-in-a-lifetime event, it will be a once-for-all-time event.
Of course, this event it the return of The Son. Jesus tells us that no one knows when He will return, so we need to always be ready for His return. Are you?
The sun may be able to be eclipsed, but when The Son returns He will not be hidden. While you can protect your eyes from an eclipse of the sun, there is only one thing that can protect you at the 2nd coming of The Son...His blood.
So, are you ready for the most important event in history? Are you ready for the return of The Son?
Always remember: never stare at the sun, but keep your eyes firmly fixed on The Son!
